There are many benefits of ACTIVITY if you want to achieve overall health and wellness.
Some of the benefits of activity include more energy, physical strength, improved mobility, better metabolism, and increased cognitive ability (brain health).
Why is Activity important
As your health and wellness coach I am here to help you achieve physical strength and mobility through proper activity.
Perhaps you are wondering why is activity so important? I am glad you asked.
Imagine. You continually put food into the garbage disposal but never turn it on. This isn’t a pretty picture, but all the food becomes one big lump of goo that clogs your sink and can potentially damage your garbage disposal. In order to remove the food from the disposal, you must have an energy source, in this case electricity to turn on the disposal to clear out the pipes.
Well, the same thing happens in our bodies. With lack of movement or activity all the food we consume gets clogged up and creates inflammation, basically artery “pipe” back up.
Inflammation is the result of a lack of activity
Inflammation left unmitigated becomes chronic and may lead to cognitive decline, low energy, and chronic disease like, Alzheimer’s or diabetes (due to insulin resistance). However, your overall Health and Wellness can improve greatly by incorporating a few activities into your daily routine.
The benefits of Activity include having more energy
The law of energy states that energy changes it is not created or destroyed. The following are six different types of energy: chemical, nuclear, electrical. mechanical, thermal and radiant. All forms of energy are needed to carry out digestion, respiration and circulation. We will go into depth during your 12-week program. I will also discuss each in future blogs.
Motion is like a lotion that keeps everything moving and grooving.
Activity to increase energy
Small walks throughout the day are the best way to get your motor running, get these cells moving your metabolic machine functioning at its best.
Exercise and nutrition are the two health cornerstones. Exercise is King while nutrition is Queen. Exercise is needed for nutrient absorption and utilization. In addition activity helps with enhanced blood flow, oxygenation to your cells, improves mood, elevates cognitive function, improves mental health, improves gut health, decreases inflammation, decreases oxidative stress, expels metabolic waste, delivers nutrients to the brain and releases a cocktail of feel-good chemicals: endorphins, dopamine and serotonin.
In other words Activity soothes the nervous system and improves mitochondria function.
